Crossing The Barrier

In the late 19th century prospectors flooded to Skagway, Alaska to secure their piece of the Gold Rush. Setting foot on Alaskan soil was a massive accomplishment. It was only the beginning of the carnivorous road to get to the gold fields. White Pass (known as dead horse trail) was filled with gangs. Chilkoot Pass was known for starvation, hypothermia and avalanches. When the prospectors finally got to Lake Bennet they had to build or buy boats to travel down the river to the gold fields.

Today there is a $900+ billion dollar digital transformation “Gold Rush” in the US. Google, Microsoft and Amazon are investing billions ($4 Trillion Dollars in market cap). It’s understandable if you’re leery about the barriers to partnerships. At 3Seven we want to encourage you. There is a path to gold and people who want to help you succeed.

Understanding the art and science of partnership allows mature partners to extract value globally across each connection point of these massive companies. The nuance to identifying win / win scenarios goes beyond who you know and motivates action in complex environments.

Great partners secure value from all engagement points and produce situations where everyone wins. In large complex organizations, this skill is more important than who is in your network. Your value prop needs to flex to each audience/situation. Likewise, there is a science to maintaining accountability rhythms to move each of those intersections forward. There are experts who have mastered how to put these two things together and match them with context. When you hire right you skip the barriers and go straight to gold.
