Episode 10: Leading Through Obstacles

Our topic in this episode is the first of a three-part series called Commitment to Completion. This is something we have been living out every day as we navigate the world of partnerships and alliances in our business. We often get a verbal “I’m in!” but it doesn’t always trickle down to tangible action. In this series kickoff episode, we are sharing principles that will be helpful as you are leading through obstacles and challenges in the space of partnerships and alliances.

Takeaways:

  1. Commitment only matters if it reaches throughout your organization. Especially in large organizations, it can feel like the only one that is truly committed to the partnership is the individual who “closed the deal.” However, partnerships and alliances require an alignment with your core values and a commitment that runs throughout the entire organization.

  2. Harness and hone people with skills in sales. Take the time to find the leaders, managers, and contributors that are from a sales background. We need to harness their skill of sales and insure it is honed in on the bigger goal of completion of partnerships.

  3. Leadership and learning culture are key ingredients to success. A successful partnership or alliance requires the ability to learn, overcome challenges, and commitment in order to succeed.
